What is Wildlife Restoration Ecology?
Wildlife restoration ecology is about creating the relationships we want to see in nature, between people and nature, and surprising to many, among people themselves. The WiRE Lab views people as an important part of food webs - both in the way we consume other organisms and how people affect the way organisms interact with one another. Because (virtually all) food webs are affected by people, restoration is about setting a vision for what success looks like for both nature and people. Within in this vision, evidence is one of the most important tools that we offer to help make wiser and more just decisions. Our work will bring this evidence to bear for everyone in society and by extension, our approach will challenge efforts to undermine knowledge or sow division between people.
